Kerrisdale Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 school located in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood on the west side of Vancouver. The original school opened in 1908 in the small building off West 39th Avenue. The main building was constructed in 1922, the north wing in 1925, and the south wing in 1955. In 2006, the main school building underwent seismic upgrading that was completed in December of that year. The school now includes elevators on every floor and some classes made bigger as well as new flooring. The school is celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2009. The 100th graduating class will be children born in 1996.
Kerrisdale's French immersion program is currently offered for grades K-5 but will extend to grade 7 as each group of students moves on to the next year. Another district program offered by the school is a band program for grades 5, 6 and 7 provided by David Lam. Kerrisdale participates in Vancouver's elementary basketball and soccer leagues also for grades 6 and 7.
Kerrisdale Elementary was also used in the filming of the movie "Freddie vs. Jason"
